What causes acid in the body:
Acid formation is contributed to many factors. Some examples and the most predominate is negative emotional stress, when you’re really stressed and have emotions of anger, resentment and of course stress in general, massive amounts of acid formation and is a major contributor is to why when under these conditions you feel generally terrible. Think about when you have experienced negative stress in your life and how you mentally and physically felt? Low and no energy?.
Other factors are of course dietary. Remember soft drinks and their ability to clean dirty coins, why? Because they have high acid levels, Over consumption of alcohol particularly beer and wine, which can contribute largely to a condition known as Gout. Gout is caused when the over production of uric acid, which i term causes sodium monourate crystals to collect in the joint fluid and joint coverings , leading to a painful stiff swollen joint usually affection feet.
Another major contributor is sugar, think of how sugar can cause big holes in our teeth, it is sugar converting to acid that burns that causes the holes to be formed. Sugar is often referred to as acid ash that is it converts and contributes to acid formation quite easily.
Overtraining and particularly training of a high intense nature can cause higher acid levels. When we train intensely we produce lactic acid, more waste by products more cell damage and so forth all contributing directly and indirectly higher acid levels.
How to Alkalise the body:
Firstly you must have an understanding of the importance of hydration levels within the body. If the hydration levels are inadequate and this is very common, then the higher acid concentration levels will generally be. Remember water will help in diluting acid. Also each living cell in your body is constantly being rebuilt as this is an ongoing process and as such creates waste material. Blood cleans the waste material away, which in fact is quite acidic. For the blood to be able to affectively achieve this it needs to be adequately hydrated , if it isn’t then the cleaning process is hampered and as such further waste builds up thus increasing acid levels within the blood. So don’t underestimate the importance of hydration.
Secondly we should look at increasing our foods that are alkaline in nature. That is simply green food vegetables and salads etc. It takes for parts of alkaline to neutralise one part of acid.
Have a look at your diet or talk to your trainer about increasing you consumption of alkaline foods.
